Timothy has been a theatre and television actor for 8 years and what a varied 8 years it’s been!

In film and television, he’s played lead and supporting roles in the genres of action, drama, and situation-comedy. In theatre, the productions he’s been involved in include musicals and family theatre, text-based plays, movement theatre, contemporary theatre and devised plays.

Tim didn’t go to drama school. However, he did train with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company (New York) in Viewpoints and the Suzuki Method of actor training back in 2008. In 2011, Tim worked with Barcelona based Teatro de los Sentidos in the Theatre of the Senses. Also in 2011, he participated in workshops on Forum Theatre and Dramaturgy conducted by Kok Heng Leun, one of Singapore’s forum theatre pioneers. In 2012, he participated in the CAUTION series of performance art workshops with Sinead O’ Donnell in Singapore. Tim continues to train regularly and look for avenues to improve and expand his craft as a theatre practitioner.

Tim Nga in “A Cage Goes in Search of a Bird” by AGROUPOFPEOPLE. This was a devised piece by the group that won “Production of the Year” at the 11th Straits Times Life Theatre Awards in 2011.

Since 2008, Tim has started directing shows, writing and making his own work.  His current project goes by the working title of the Taxi Project and is supported by the Substation Directors’ Lab and the National Arts Council of Singapore.
